Minister of Music: Dawn Rasberry
The Purpose of the Music Ministry
Praise the Lord.
Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens.
2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
3 Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre,
4 praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe,
5 praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. ~ Psalm 150:1-6 NIV
The primary purpose of the music ministry is to glorify and worship God. Music enhances our spiritual connection with God’s Word. The music ministry supports the worship service with message-appropriate, theologically-correct hymns, anthems, and musical selections chosen to accompany God’s message, opening our hearts and minds in ways that often, words alone cannot. Christian musicians are called to God’s purpose, teaching others, using their instruments, primarily their voices, to lead, promote, and enhance praise within the choir and congregation.
